Access to Work may pay less than the full amount of your ERS invoice.Once ERS receives the Access to Work payment, we will reconcile the payment against your invoice and confirm whether there is a remaining balance. If there is a remaining balance, ERS will issue you with an updated invoice showing the amount you need to pay.
A Customer Contribution is an amount towards your travel costs that remains your responsibility under your Access to Work award. The amount you need to pay ERS cannot necessarily be confirmed when your original invoice is issued. It will depend on the amount actually paid by Access to Work.Once ERS has received and reconciled the Access to Work payment, we will confirm any remaining balance and issue an updated invoice showing the amount due.
Once ERS has received the Access to Work payment and confirmed that a Customer Contribution or other balance remains outstanding, we will issue an updated invoice showing the amount due.You will then have 30 days from the date of the updated invoice to make payment.
If you have correctly submitted your claim to Access to Work for direct payment to ERS within 30 days of the original invoice date, you will not be considered overdue solely because Access to Work has taken longer than 30 days to process or pay the claim.ERS will wait for the Access to Work payment to be received.Once payment is received, any remaining balance will be confirmed and, where applicable, an updated invoice will be issued. The remaining balance will then have a new 30-day payment period from the date of the updated invoice.
If payment has not been received, or you have not correctly submitted your claim to Access to Work for direct payment to ERS, we may contact you with a payment reminder before the 30-day deadline. If the payment requirements have not been met by the deadline, ERS may suspend future services until the matter is resolved. We understand that circumstances can sometimes make payments difficult to arrange. If you are experiencing difficulties or have questions about your invoice, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the situation. If an outstanding balance remains unresolved, ERS may take further steps to recover the debt. This may include issuing a formal Letter of Claim and commencing County Court proceedings where appropriate.Where an Access to Work claim has been correctly submitted for direct payment to ERS within the initial 30-day period, subsequent delays caused by Access to Work processing the claim will not, in themselves, result in suspension of services.
